1

Initial
Consultation

Your child’s therapist will hear your concerns and suggest the best services for you and your child. If it seems right, a parent interview will be set up before the call ends. Later, she will send you some forms about your child's development and current symptoms, as well as details on office policies.

2

Parent
Interview

During this 60-minute, in person session, your child’s therapist will go through background information, discuss your concerns, and set specific treatment goals for your child’s individualized therapy plan.

3

Initial Child Therapy Session

During the first session, you and your child will come back to the office together to discuss the structure of sessions, confidentiality and its limits, and other office policies. Then, you will return to the waiting room and your child will have a chance to discuss their concerns with your therapist and add to their treatment plan.

4

Ongoing
Sessions

Your therapist will keep track of you and your child’s progress to help reach treatment goals. She may suggest parent-only sessions to discuss strategies for home, but you can also ask for these sessions. As your child achieves their goals, you will set new goals with your child’s therapist or plan for graduation.
